Ship Motion Simulator
ABLAZE personnel have designed and built a Ship Motion Simulator. The system allows the user to physically simulate the motion of any size craft from a small raft to the largest container ship. The user can also select the Sea-State and define any type of wave conditions from a calm sea, to a hurricane. The system includes force feedback as part of the ship's modeling. The
result of this is that the deck acts in a very realistic manner. For example
if the system were simulating a raft and the user stepped on the deck,
the deck would react to the person's weight just as an actual raft would.
Similarly the system can simulate the actions of a container on a barge
or container ship. |
